68 DODGE CORONET R/T VERY RARELY OPTIONED CAR
MOPAR CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH HEMI 440 (POSS TRADE)
I forgot to mention in the listing, I do have the fender tag and broadcast sheet.
What I have here is a very rarely optioned 68 Coronet R/T. I have taken this car to a few different shows for sale in there swap meets (Mopar nats, Monster Mopar in st. louis and Mopars in the park in MN) and have had countless people talk to me about the car. I have not talked to anyone who has seen a car with every single option that this car has. There was a gentleman at the Monster Mopar show in St. Louis who owns 26 nicely restored b-bodies from 1968 and he has some really nice rare cars, he told me that not one of his cars has every option that this one has, and he hadnt ever seen one that was optioned this way.Above Added: Thu October 29, 2009, 7:22 pm EST
This car was ordered new by a constable, he wanted a loaded R/T and wanted the same drivetrain as a cop car.
Here are the options for the car.
- 440 HP engine (turns freely)
- column shifted automatic transmission
- positraction (8 3/4 rearend)
- power steering
- AM / 8 track radio
- disk brakes
- air conditioning
- 150 MPH speedometer
- Tic-toc-tach
- Power Bulge Hood
This is a very complete and original find. This car has sat since 1981. The car does need a complete restoration, but when have you seen something this complete, and numbers matching.
The car is very rusty, it sat in the woods since 81, but the one good thing is that you can buy every body panel that is needed to restore this car.
I did get lucky and acquired the very nice and solid power bulge hood that you see on the car now. It had one on it originally, but the car had been hit in the front.
Before the aftermarket companies started reproducing everything for 68 to 70 b bodies, I had bought a perfect california car to be a donor car for this project, but the car ended up being such a nice car i couldnt take it apart and used it for a driver. Now i am glad i didnt take it apart as they make every piece.
I have the original radiator in the trunk, the top tank is good. I have another 26 in radiator for the other needed pieces.
I dont know how in detail to get with this description, if you are into these old b bodies, you know what this car would be worth done.
I know what I can get just parting this car out. I parted out 8 of these old b bodies in the last couple years. This thing is just too complete and rare of a car to part it out. I have on occasion on here seen adds for people looking for 68 projects, so I thought i would list it on here and see what happens.
This car is sold with a wisconsin bill of sale from the lady that I got it from.
I know the car market is on its butt right now, there are a ton of cars and bikes for sale right now, and you wouldnt know it by looking on here, but there are some really good deals out there right now. So I am going to see if anyone is interested in it. I dont need to sell it, I dont need the room. It will just be a while before I would get to this as i am restoring a very nice 67 GTX that I have had for quite a while now.
I would be willing to trade this for a number of things. Old car, Harley, drag car (mopar prefered but who knows), skidsteer, newer car or truck or who knows. I really dont want any projects, or I would just keep this.
Use the message system through here and I will get back ahold of you right away. I check my messages many times daily.
Thank you for your time and interest and have a good day.
